How to Measure Your Desk Height and Seat Depth for Perfect Fit

2026-09-09 6 min read

Proper desk fitting requires three measurements. Desk height: with your elbows at 90 degrees, your forearm should be parallel to the floor. Standard desks are 29-30 inches. Taller users may need 31-33 inches. Seat height: your feet flat on the floor with thighs parallel. Seat depth: 2-4 inches between the back of your knee and the seat edge. Monitor distance: arm's length, about 20-30 inches from your eyes. Top of screen at eye level. Write these measurements down and adjust your chair and desk to match.
